´Nobody knows´ Nunez potential but Klopp impressed by ´incredible´ response to Palace ´knock´

Jurgen Klopp has no idea how good Darwin Nunez could become but believes the Liverpool forward s output so far has been incredible considering the knock of his early suspension.

Nunez was Liverpool s big-money pre-season signing, arriving from Benfica for a fee that could reportedly reach £85million (€100m).

The 23-year-old enjoyed a flying start to life in England, scoring from the bench against both Manchester City and Fulham, but his first appearance in the starting XI was cut short by a red card against Crystal Palace that prompted a three-match ban.

As a result, Nunez has still only played 636 minutes for Liverpool in late October, although he has been in the thick of the action when he has been on the pitch.

Monza and Bologna will observe a minute s silence before Monday s Serie A game to remember the man killed in a stabbing attack that left Pablo Mari injured.

Home side Monza will also wear special shirts bearing the message Come back soon, Pablo , ahead of their clash with the Rossoblu.

Should Inter Milan Have Sacked Gian Piero Gasperini?

Gian Piero Gasperini did not have the best start to his managerial career at Inter Milan. In fact, some may call it a nightmare start, and they would be right to say so. The Italian boss was let go on Wednesday after just five games. Recent speculation has suggested that former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri is the favourite to replace Gasperini.

Yesterday s loss to Novara did not help Gasperini s chances of keeping his job. Especially after he stressed the importance of winning the match to thwart criticism surrounding his side.

At a press conference, Gasperini said:

There has always been a bit more criticism and nastiness towards Inter. But the best way to respond to criticism will be on the pitch.

The road taken now seems …

Arshavin hopes to inspire Gunners

Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin hopes improvement in his own form can help the Gunners renew their challenge for the Premier League title.

The Russian joined Arsene Wenger s men from Zenit St Petersburg in January 2009 and started life in London in glittering form.

His performances in the past year or so have waned, however, and the 30-year-old is well aware that he should be providing greater inspiration for the rest of the Arsenal squad.

Arsenal have made a horrendous start to the Premier League season, with just two wins from sevens outings so far, and Arshavin said he was determined to help them recover.

He told the club s official website: They should expect more from me, of course.

They should expect some more tricks, goals and unbelieva…

Juventus v Sampdoria: Padoin sends out warning as champions close stunning campaign

Juventus forward Simone Padoin has fired a warning to their rivals as the champions bring their Serie A season to an end against Sampdoria on Saturday.

The Old Lady clinched a fifth successive Scudetto after a remarkable run in which they won 25 out of 26 matches, a sequence which ended with a 2-1 reverse to relegated Verona last week.

A win in the Coppa Italia final against AC Milan next week would give Juve a domestic double for the second year running, while they have already begun to lay the groundwork for next season, with head coach Massimiliano Allegri and veterans Gianluigi Buffon and Andrea Barzagli all signing new contracts.

And Padoin, who has been involved in all five of those Serie A title triumphs since 2012, says the strive to improve upon succe…

Aubameyang confident of catching Salah, Aguero in Golden Boot race

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has his sights set on catching Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah in the race for the Premier League s Golden Boot after his opportunistic goal downed Watford.

Aubameyang capitalised on goalkeeper Ben Foster s lapse in concentration in the 10th minute at Vicarage Road on Monday, earning a win that moved the Gunners up to fourth in the table.

Troy Deeney s red card shortly after the goal gave Watford a mountain to climb but Javi Gracia s side hit the woodwork twice, Bernd Leno turning Craig Cathcart s effort on to the post and Adam Masina s drive clipping the crossbar.

Arsenal held on against the 10 men for their first away clean sheet in the Premier League this season, giving Unai Emery s men a boost ahead of the second leg of their upco…

Torino set to sign Ola Aina in summer

According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Italian side Torino are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Ola Aina in the summer. The 22 year old is currently on loan with Torino, and has been turning heads during his loan spell. There is an £8.6 million option for them to sign him on a permanent basis, and it appears as if they’re gearing up to do so.

Aina is one of many young Chelsea players out on loan, proving that English talent can thrive from spending time overseas which is one of the reasons why some England fans have been in favour of the idea of Hudson-Odoi going to Bayern Munich.

Ola even made the 30 man preliminary squad for Nigeria prior to the World Cup but didn’t make the final 23, representing England up until 2017 when he decided to join the Su…

Manchester United, Dortmund and Ajax looking to join list of greatest Champions League comebacks

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Tottenham all have the odds stacked heavily in their favour heading into the second legs of their Champions League last-16 ties this week.

Thomas Tuchel s Ligue 1 heavyweights crafted a commanding 2-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, with a red card for Paul Pogba compounding problems for caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who must grapple with a hefty injury list in the French capital on Wednesday.

Borussia Dortmund are faltering at the top of the Bundesliga and they were overrun at Wembley last month, with Spurs establishing a 3-0 lead to take to Signal Iduna Park.

Ajax were unfortunate to end up beaten 2-1 by reigning champions Madrid in Amsterdam after a stirring performance, but two away goals mean Santiag…
