Barcelona and Bayern in Christensen race

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are both strongly interested in signing Andreas Christensen on a free transfer when his contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season, according to .

The Denmark international has been an important part of Thomas Tuchel s team throughout, starting 11 Premier League matches this term. However, he missed the potential season decider against Manchester City on Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19.

Chelsea have placed an offer of a new deal on the table for the 25-year-old to consider, but he hasn t signed it yet and appears reluctant to do so. The club are in a similar situation with Antonio Rudiger and captain Cesar Azpilicueta.

Christensen joined Chelsea s youth setup from that of Brondby at the Under-18 level. He was …

Ancelotti satisfied with Real Madrid´s progress: ´We are where we want to be´

Carlo Ancelotti has no doubt over the motivation of his Real Madrid side as he stressed Los Blancos are where they want to be .

LaLiga leaders Madrid sat six points clear of second-placed Sevilla at the time of Ancelotti s news conference on Friday, though the Andalusian team might have narrowed that gap down to three before Los Blancos take on Real Sociedad on Saturday.

After seven consecutive wins over Sociedad in LaLiga between 2015 and 2018, Madrid have won just three of their past seven meetings with the Basque side in the top flight and Ancelotti is expecting a tough test.

However, the Italian insisted he is happy with the progress Madrid have made so far during his second spell in charge. While they are out of the Copa del Rey, Madrid are still favourit…

Leeds have announced the appointment of Daniel Farke as manager on a four-year deal.

The 46-year-old takes over from Sam Allardyce, who left the club at the end of last season following their relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.

Kane to try and force Man City move

Harry Kane could reportedly refuse to report for pre-season training with Tottenham Hotspur in order to try and force a move to Manchester City as, according to , some of his England teammates believe.

Despite manager Pep Guardiola mentioning on more than one occasion that the club might not be able to afford a striker to replace Sergio Aguero in their ranks, the Premier League champions have already communicated their readiness to pay £100 million for the services of the 27-year-old striker. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is believed to be adamant about not listening to any offers for the England captain.

Kane is currently on his three-week holiday following England s defeat in the final of the Euros, and if Levy s stance doesn t change, he could opt to make his …

Rodgers aiming to create history after Leicester set up FA Cup final with Chelsea

Brendan Rodgers is hoping to write his name in Leicester City folklore by guiding them to FA Cup glory in next month s final against Chelsea.

Leicester edged out fellow Premier League side Southampton 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday through a Kelechi Iheanacho strike to reach their first final since 1969.

The Foxes were memorably crowned English champions in 2015-16 but never before have they lifted the FA Cup, finishing runners-up on four occasions.

Rodgers is looking to put that right as Leicester attempt to balance their cup exploits with finishing in the top four of the Premier League over the remainder of the season.

We have the chance to create history. That is what this game is about, creating a memory, he told BBC Sport.

Martinez´s heroics has Messi on cusp of coveted Argentina crown

When you take a look at Lionel Messi s trophy cabinet, there isn t much missing.

No player in Barcelona s history has won more titles than Messi at Camp Nou – 10 LaLiga trophies and four Champions League crowns among his club-record haul of 34 pieces of silverware.

That s even before you get to his individual accolades and records… six Ballons d Or to go with being Barcelona and Argentina s all-time leading goalscorer among other things.

But there is one glaring absence in Messi s trophy cabinet – a senior international title with Argentina. Unlike legendary countryman Diego Maradona and even Portuguese foe Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi has never conquered the international stage.

Regarded as one of, if not, the greatest footballer of all time, yet Messi…

Ronaldo thanks players, coaches and opponents after netting 750th goal

Cristiano Ronaldo thanked players, coaches and loyal opponents after the Juventus star scored the 750th goal of his remarkable career.

Ronaldo reached the milestone with a simple finish 57 minutes into Juve s 3-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in their Champions League Group G clash on Wednesday.

It was his 75th across all competitions for Juve, who Ronaldo joined from Real Madrid – where he scored 450 goals – in 2018.

The 35-year-old, a five-time Ballon d Or winner, reached that mammoth total for Madrid in just 438 matches across all competitions, following his then world-record move from Manchester United in 2009.

During his six-year stint at Old Trafford, he scored 118 times for the Red Devils.

Morata abuse ´is not acceptable´, says Spain team-mate Olmo

The abuse aimed at Alvaro Morata and his family by some Spain supporters crossed the line and is not acceptable , according to team-mate Dani Olmo.

Morata has been the focus of attention for La Roja since being jeered by his own fans during a pre-Euro 2020 friendly with Portugal after missing several opportunities.

He was then criticised for his displays in Spain s 0-0 draw with Sweden in their Group E opener and 1-1 draw with Poland, a game in which he scored but missed more chances.

The Juventus striker, whose loan from Atletico Madrid was extended for another season last week, then missed a penalty in Wednesday s 5-0 win against Slovakia.

Morata revealed in an interview that he has received vicious messages on social media during the tournament, while …

Chelsea appoint new technical director with focus on ´global football´

Chelsea have announced the arrival of Laurence Stewart from Monaco as technical director with a focus on global football, in what is seen as the first move towards a multi-club model.

Stewart, a former performance analyst for England during the 2014 World Cup, will arrive at Stamford Bridge upon the completion of his tenure with the Ligue 1 outfit.

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has made little secret of his desire to move the Premier League outfit towards a multi-club model, akin to Manchester City and the City Football Group, who own teams in 11 countries.

Stewart, who has experience with such a model through Monaco, appears to be arriving to help facilitate that vision, given the emphasis his role will have on global matters.

Hazard: Last chance for Belgium´s Golden Generation at World Cup

Eden Hazard acknowledged the World Cup in Qatar will be the last chance for Belgium s Golden Generation to triumph and says he wants to stay at Real Madrid.

With the likes of Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku to call upon, Belgium have been unable to get their hands on a major trophy.

The Red Devils have ended five of the past seven years at the top of the FIFA rankings, though they suffered quarter-final eliminations at the past two European Championships.

Belgium were also knocked out at the same stage in the 2014 World Cup before reaching the semi-finals of Russia 2018, where they were beaten by eventual winners France.

Hazard, who has endured a difficult time in Madrid following his move from Chelsea, believes Qatar will be B…
